USGP is seeking Cardiac Catheterization Technicians to provide services at San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC). Work hours are 7:30 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional call hours for after duty care.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from a Cardiovascular Technologist program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Joint Review Committee in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT).
- Must have and maintain a valid and current Basic Life Support (BLS) card and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Licensure/Registration: Registered as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) as determined by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required. Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) is preferred.
- Experience: One year of experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist after graduation.
Qualifications
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Perform duties within the scope of practice determined by didactic, laboratory, and clinical technological education and registration.
- Review and/or record pertinent patient history and supporting clinical data.
- Perform appropriate clinical procedures and obtain a record of anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
- Exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic services.
- Participate in interventional cardiovascular catheterization and/or cardiac electrophysiology procedures, including, but not limited to balloon angioplasty, stent insertion, radiofrequency ablation, and pacemaker and/or implantable defibrillator insertion. Must have knowledge or an aptitude to learn new, increasingly complex, and rapidly changing technology of equipment and procedures.
- Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
